| Oriental medicine is divided into 3 areas, body work (Tui Na), acupuncture, and herbology. Acupuncture uses needles at specific points on the body to access energy and help to bring the body into balance. Herbal formulas are given to continue balancing the body at home between acupuncture treatments. Bodywork is used to loosen muscles, relax the patient, and move energy throughout the body. Nutritional counseling, from an eastern perspective, uses whole foods to aid the body in healing. Reflexology is used to farther aid the body by activating specific areas on the hands and feet related to the patient’s current problem. These and other techniques are used to treat patients of all ages. |
