About The Doctor
Lissa Nirenberg, a doctor of Oriental Medicine, owns a holistic healthcare clinic in Coral Gables, FL. Her facility provides natural healthcare to the community. She gained experience by interning over a four-year period as an Acupuncture Physician at the Southeast Institute of Oriental Medicine located in Miami, Florida. Her background includes several years of medical laboratory technology work at a local hospital. Lissa has also worked on Maternal Issues for the Miami-Dade County Health Department, and volunteered at a local Aids center. She works with patients, in conjunction with their psychologist and psychiatrist, and other western practitioners to obtain their optimal health.
She believes in taking each patient from where they are to where they want to be. This includes aiding them with both physical and emotional issues.
Lissa specializes in balancing the individual patient from a Chinese Medicine perspective in order to eliminate symptoms in the body.
Lissa first received a degree in medical technology from Miami Dade College Medical Center. She was then running and reporting laboratory results at James Archer Smith hospital. She completed her undergraduate studies with a bachelors in biology and a minor in chemistry as a pre-med major at Florida International University. Lissa earned her masters as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine at the Southeast Institute of Oriental Medicine. Lissa has received advanced training and is certified in Acupoint injection therapy, cold laser therapy and oriental reproduction.
Lissa is a Fellow with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine. This requires a base of knowledge and continuing education in both male and female fertility. This allows her to work with patients attempting to become pregnant as well as those that already are.
Lissa believes in also advancing her studies to improve patient care. She has studied and is using Acutonics, a vibrational healing modality. She is also continuing with her herbal studies and advancing her auricular treatments (ear acupuncture).
While working to improve the quality of life of her patients and enjoying it, she also allows for balance in her life. Lissa enjoys pilates and working out, traveling, reading and being outdoors. She is a certified Qi Gong teacher requiring her to practice. Her favorite things include being outdoors with her rescue dog, and going on vacations with her husband and adult children.
